SuperChamps, Round Seven
Daytona Sandown Park
SuperChamps returned to Daytona Sandown Park for the penultimate time as our drivers arrived ready to tackle the Alternate layout. With the championship season nearing it’s close, now was the time for the drivers to make their mark.
Pole position in the DMAX class went the way of Freddie Burden, setting a 46.314, a blistering lap. Tom Williams joined him on the front row for the Shootout just a couple tenths back. Alfie Shrubb took pole in the Heavyweight class with a 47.183 ahead of Yaseen Khan in P2. Leading into the Shootout, Burden launched perfectly from pole and immediately stamped authority on the race, pulling a commanding gap out front. This lead would only climb, with drivers behind getting stuck in for the remaining podium positions. Burden took a commanding win ahead of Thomas Williams in P2 and Fin Ions P3. Alfie Shrubb took the first win of the day in the Heavyweight class ahead of Yaseen Khan, who finished 1.5 seconds behind. The final saw a similar performance from the dominant Burden who led early from the front. Once again, the 3-way podium fight between Archie Bullard, Ions and Williams allowed Burden to extend his lead out front. Behind them a battle between George Lawlor, Amor Zayana and Harrison Rudge also put on a show for the onlooking spectators. Freddie Burden crossed the line to complete the perfect day, winning the Feature by a massive 14 seconds. Fin Ions held off Archie Bullard for P2 with Bullard completing the podium in P3. Alfie Shrubb also completed the perfect round by taking the win in the Heavyweight class, despite picking up a penalty. Yaseen Khan took P2 ahead of Warren Gomm in P3. However, due to a penalty Sam Roy went on to replace Gomm on the podium after Gomm picked up a penalty for a jump start.
In the SODI division, pole position went to Leger Dimitriou with a 54.229. Caesar Chen lining up alongside him in second position just a tenth behind. Malachy Prakash took pole in the Heavyweight class. Chen got the jump early on, getting past Dimitriou on the opening laps. This battle didn’t end here, as the pair were joined by Abhay Parmar and championship leader Peter Tilev. The group’s tireless battling eventually allowed Chen to run away out front. Malachy Prakash took victory in the Heavies. In the Final, Chen wasted no time asserting control, leading confidently from the front and managing the pace in dominant style. His only real challenge came from Parmar, the pair swapping positions several times at the latter stages of the race. But after 25 minutes of racing, Caesar Chen took victory ahead of Abhay Parmar in P2 and Tyler Orridge in P3. Malachy Prakash took the win in the Heavyweight class.
It’s been an epic round of SuperChamps once again here at Daytona Sandown Park. Drivers across all four classes putting on a show. We look forward to having the drivers back for the final round of the season on January 25th, as we return to our Grand Prix layout on our Heats format.

InKart, Round Seven
Daytona Milton Keynes
In the Cadet class, after topping the times in Practice, the reigning champion went even quicker when it mattered most, securing pole position by over two tenths of a second. Jack Dowding put in a strong performance to take second in his group, earning a second row start for the A-Final, while Leo Sibthorpe rounded out the group in third, lining up on row three of the Cadet grid. Over in the Junior class, it was Arel Kesimgil who emerged on top in the opening group, earning himself a coveted front-row start for the A-Final. Nathaniel Garai followed close behind to claim a second-row position, with Oliver Catchpole securing a solid third row start. The second half of the grid then took to the track to set their qualifying times. In the Junior category, Rayaan Malik went fastest, securing a place on the front row of the A-Final alongside Kesimgil. Dominic Flemming slotted into row two next to Garai, while Rueben Crudgington took third in group, lining up alongside Catchpole on row three. In the second Cadet group, Jed Khoza delivered an impressive lap to go quickest by over two tenths of a second, earning a front-row start next to Townshend. Ryan Cafferkey followed him to secure a spot on row two alongside Dowding, while Sean Chan completed the top three in group, qualifying just four tenths shy of Khoza and lining up alongside Sibthorpe on row three.
In the Junior B-Final, Daniel Harman and Charlie Marden (in their respective classes) took early control, with Harman quickly asserting himself as the driver to beat. An intense opening-lap fight between Harman and Wright kept the pressure high, but as the race settled, Harman pulled away decisively. By the time the chequered flag fell, and post-race penalties were applied, Harman had secured victory and the final A-Final slot by over 18-seconds. Edward Doroft claimed second after a close race-long battle with Wright, who ultimately had to settle for third. The Cadet B-Final followed a similar storyline. Charlie Marden grabbed the lead on lap one and never looked back, stretching his advantage lap by lap to finish more than 18-seconds clear of the rest of the field. Toby Meredith crossed the line in second, comfortably ahead of Leo Foster in third, who finished over 15 seconds behind Meredith. Attention then turned to the A-Final, Townshend and Khoza lined up on the front row in the Cadet class, while the Junior A-Final saw Malik and Kesimgil starting side by side at the front. The Junior A-Final quickly became a thrilling three-way fight. Malik and Kesimgil traded positions at the front throughout the race, but the standout performance came from seventh-place starter Jacob Noble. Methodically carving his way through the field, Noble inserted himself into the lead battle and set up a dramatic finale. In the closing laps, the top three were separated by the smallest of margins, but as the chequered flag waved, it was Noble who emerged victorious after a superb comeback drive. Kesimgil edged Malik to take second place, with Malik completing the podium in third.
In the Cadet A-Final, however, it was a commanding display from Gillen Townshend. From pole position, he pulled clear almost immediately and went on to dominate the race, finishing sixth overall and slicing his way through half of the Junior field in the process. Jack Dowding drove a consistent race to secure second in the Cadet class but crossing the line over 30 seconds behind Townshend. The final podium spot was decided by a fierce battle between Leo Sibthorpe and Mullan. The pair ran nose-to-tail for much of the race, but it was Mullan who prevailed at the flag, claiming third place by less than half a second, leaving Sibthorpe agonisingly just off the podium.
Thursday Night League, Round Eleven
Daytona Milton Keynes
Despite challenging conditions, drivers of Thursday Night League daring enough to brave the cold in the search for championship points descended on Daytona Milton Keynes. Qualifying came first, and it was Ash Chivers who laid down an early marker by setting the fastest lap overall. As the session unfolded, Chivers converted that pace into Heavyweight pole position, finishing a commanding two seconds clear of Richard Danby in second. Ben Swabey completed the top three, just six tenths behind Danby in a tightly contested Heavyweight field. In the Lightweights, Charlie Csepreghi took pole position with championship leader Adam Pughe right on his tail, Pughe missing out on pole by a mere two-hundredths of a second. Barry Morris settled for third, only six-hundredths slower than the fastest time. Heading into the main race of the evening, the Lightweight class bore witness to a full 20-minute battle for the win between Csepreghi and Pughe. Neither driver able to break free as they traded laps at the front. Behind them, fourth-place qualifier Noah Willis found himself locked in a tough scrap with Barry Morris, a contest that lasted much of the race. Willis eventually came out on top, securing third place after an intense duel. At the chequered flag, it was Charlie Csepreghi who finally edged clear, pulling out just over a one-second advantage to take a hard-earned victory in the Lightweights, with Pughe forced to settle for second after a relentless challenge. The Heavyweight race told a very different story. Pole sitter Ash Chivers endured a difficult start, losing the lead early to Richard Danby. From that point on, Danby was able to pull away to claim a dominant win, crossing the line six seconds clear of Chivers. Around 30 seconds behind the leading pair, David Rollins and Ben Swabey were in their own battle, fighting all the way to the flag for the last spot on the Heavyweight podium, with Rollins coming out on top.
