Titan Motorsports won the first ever Daytona Cup at The Olympic Stadium on Saturday morning. As part of The Race of Champions, Daytona Motorsport offered just 25 teams the chance to race in this unique race in the Dmax High Performance Karts on the ROC circuit – just before Sebastian Vettel, David Coulthard, Daniel Ricciardo etc raced on the same track.
Forty Daytona employees worked through the night to make the circuit suitable and safe for racing in the high performance Dmax karts – with the final decision to go ahead with the event taking place just 60 minutes before the start of qualifying!
The drivers had to contend with every type of weather with snow, rain and sunshine in just 90 minutes in East London but all 25 teams enjoyed the challenge of controlling the high performance karts in the very wet conditions.
