Daytona Motorsport are delighted to congratulate the 2017 Summer Hot Laps Champions.

Following a four week long qualifying period, open to any drivers aged 16 and over who drove one of Daytona’s Sodi RT8 Karts during Monday-Friday daytimes, each of our circuits saw the very fastest drivers compete in the Finals this week.

Competition to make the Finals at each circuit was fierce. The leaderboards were updated at the end of each weekday at each circuit, with drivers able to check if they had made it onto the leaderboard on our website. As we approached the final few days of qualifying last week, some drivers realised that they would have to come back and record a faster time as the qualifying time at each track got faster and faster.

Flash forward to this week – and each of our circuits hosted their Summer Hot Laps Final. Each track witnessed incredibly close racing amongst the drivers – Daytona Sandown Park’s top two drivers finished just 0.06 seconds apart after 20 minutes racing!

Our Summer Hot Laps prize fund of £1000 meant that each Champion won £250 worth of racing at Daytona:
