Daytona Instructor Ed Brand started his 2016 racing off with a stunning win in the DD2 Final in Valencia this week as part of the Rotax Max Winter Cup.
Brand, one of our lead test drivers for our DMAX karts, left the cold weather at Daytona Milton Keynes to pop over to Southern Spain to race for the CRG SPA team in the Rotax Max Winter Cup – unaware that his race day would be very eventful.
Ed qualifed for Pole in the Pre-Final but was caught up in an incident and ended up receovering to 14th. As a result he started 14th in the Main Final. Despite the lead drivers pulling away in the early stage of the rain-affected Final, Ed carved his way through traffic to catch the race leader and overtake him with two laps to go!
