After six enthralling rounds of racing, the InKart season finale took place on the GP circuit in its 'Cup' format, with fantastic racing conditions on track.  There were plenty of drivers in championship contention across both classes, so we had a true title decider on our hands, with drivers fighting for every last available point. The competitive attitude was evident straight away, with rapid lap times set in both practice and qualifying.

Cadets qualifying group one saw Adam Telford take provisional pole over Leger Dimitriou less than three tenths behind him, and twin sister Sarah Telford narrowly behind rounding off the top three.

A similar story followed suit in group two for the Cadets, Sebastian Mejer with the fastest overall time across both cadet groups, beating Adam's qualifying time by less than five hundredths of a second. Ed Siberry concluded the top three with a fantastic qualifying performance. Both Cadet finals were set to line up for a nail-biting conclusion to the season.

Qualifying within the Juniors mirrored the exceptional quality of driving witnessed in the Cadets. In Group one the only driver to break into the '52 second lap times' was Kaiden Mercer, who took first in group. Following on from Mercer, in second and third were of Robert Wijnand and Ethan Critchley were separated by less than five hundredths of a second once again. Great drives across the group.

Junior qualifying Group Two saw a star-studded line up in the form of all three championship contenders; Ellis McKenzie, Leo Edger and Nelson Taylor. Nelson gets the best of the three with a blistering 51.8, followed closed by Ellis and then Leo, all within four tenths of each other. Nelson found himself on pole position for the title-deciding A-final.

There was still plenty to race for in the Junior B-final, as drivers took to their karts for the final time this season. All drivers pulled away cleanly for the final time, barreling towards turn one. Daniel Harman took an early lead and maintained fantastic pace throughout the trace. By the end of the 25 minute final, he had pulled an 18 second gap to second place, taking the chequered flag after an incredible performance. William Bradbury also put in a fantastic drive, fending off the likes of Aleksander Kozuch amidst a three-way challenge for third place. Less than half a second separated the drivers in third to fifth place in an epic Junior B-final race.

The Cadet-B final was a completely different story. Marcus Cooper performed the drive of his life, starting on pole position and ending the race with a one lap lead ahead of the entire pack, demonstrating blisteringly consistent pace that simply could not be matched. Sarah Telford managed to fend off the likes of Sean Whelan, concluding the Cadet B-final podium positions. We witnessed moments of brilliance for all Cadet drivers, with plenty of moves completed.

Moving onto the A-finals, with both races featuring a 'clash of the titans' battle for the championship title.

The Cadet drivers got away cleanly with a close initial start, Adam Telford and Sebastian Mejer fighting fiercely throughout the 25 minute battle, with less than four seconds separating them as they crossed the line. An unfortunate one-place penalty to Adam, demoted him to third, but regardless a fantastic battle between the two. Leger Dimitriou stayed consistently with the front two runners and with the promotion in to second, leaving him tied with Sebastian at the end of the season finale.

For the juniors a similar story ensued, all three championship runners sat at the front of the grid for the start and stayed glued together for the entirety of the final. Ellis McKenzie and Leo Edger fought hard with immaculate defensive driving as they switched the lead constantly. Nelson Taylor, although initially behind with five minutes to go, re-entered the battle for the lead. As the drivers came around the corner, Edger maintained his lead over McKenzie, followed by Taylor. Less than five tenths separated the three in arguable the best battle of the season in the most crucial moment.

With another competitive InKart season coming to a close, we saw Ellis McKenzie crowned Junior Champion with an impressive point haul of 350. Eighteen points behind him stood Leo Edger, narrowly beating Nelson Taylor with just four points separating second and third.

The Cadets was dramatically close in its conclusion, with the top two drivers tied on 342 championship points. Sebastian Mejer claimed the title through the earliest highest points finish and was crowned champion ahead of Leger Dimitriou in second. Last season's champion Adam Telford rounded off the podium in third place, eight points behind.
