Junior Sprint League
A damp Round 2 of the Junior Sprint League started with reigning Champion Blake Southan taking pole with a massive lead of over 2 seconds as the flag dropped on qualifying. He was then followed by Jacob Csepreghi who was narrowly followed by his brother Charlie.
It was a hectic opening lap as Blake Southan led away from the front, Louis Bishop made a rocket start gaining 2 positions in the opening few corners as he looked to make his way through the field after a rare off day in qualifying left him starting in 7th.
Blake Southan quickly built up a large margin to the battling pack behind and took another dominant race win and maximum points for the round after securing the fastest lap, the two Csepreghi brothers were battling with each other for the remaining two spots on the podium, but disaster struck as some contact between the drivers left Jacob on the grass and pointing the wrong way allowing Cooper West to snatch the final spot on the podium. Jacob Csepreghi still managed to finish 4th despite the spin with Louis Bishop rounding out the Top 5.
InKart
Cadets
It was a wet and windy day at Daytona Milton Keynes for the second round of the InKart championship which setup for some thrilling racing and battles out on track.
In the first heat Gillen Townshend showed off his impressive wet weather skills winning the heat by over 10 seconds from the very close battle behind of Alexander Karadzhov and Alexandru Ibanescu who rounded out the top 3 for heat 1.
Dexter Hazeldine took the second heat and was the only driver to not be lapped by the Junior class karts, Jacob Kent finished in second despite a tough heat with Jack Bailey in third.
Heat 3 saw another battle between Alexander Karadzhov and Alexandru Ibanescu but this team for the Heat win but it was Ibanescu to get the better of his rival to take the win with Jacob Noble not too far back in third. Heat 1 winner Gillen Townshend didn't have the heat he wanted as a first corner incident left him fighting to try and catch back up to the pack in front.
It was a repeat podium in heat 4 with Jacob Kent getting to the line first with Dexter Hazeldine in second and Jack Bailey picking up another Heat’s Podium.
Ryan Cafferkey took the win in the B final posting a lap time 2 seconds faster than his next closest rival of Seth Sydney who couldn’t quite find the same exceptional pace he showed in the first round, Leo Sibthorpe took the final spot on the podium.
Jacob Kent showed defensive excellence to keep off the fast charging Alexander Karadzhov to take back to back wins in the A Final, Alexandru Ibanescu secured third after showing great pace throughout the entire event.
Juniors
Arthur Caluch took the first heat of the day finishing just 2.3 seconds of Tom Justice in second and Harry Ward in Third.
After taking the win in Junior Sprint League, Blake Southan showed the same form to win Heat 2 followed by Charley Murray who was only 5 tenths behind, Zayn Perry rounded off the podium.
Tom Justice did one better in Heat 3 to take the win from Callum White in second and Arthur Caluch in Third who would pick up another podium in the Heats.
Blake Southan took a very convincing win in Heat 4 finishing 9 seconds in front of Championship rival Zayn Perry who was a further 8 seconds up the road from third place finisher Lewis Bowey.
A very chaotic start to the B Final saw several position changes on the opening lap with after a number of the leading drivers ending up spinning out due to the tricky conditions. It was Liam Weatherall who would keep his nose clean and win the B Final, 11 Seconds in front of Ethan Steng in second, and Tudor Geanta in third.
After a very close battle for the lead of the race it was Blake Southan to round of a perfect scoring day, pipping Tom Justice to the win by just over a second. Callum White showed some very impressive speed to finish on the final step of the podium.
SuperChamps
SODI
Round 2 saw our SuperChamps drivers take to the track and test out our newly upgraded Sodi SR5’s.
Current Lightweight Champion Harry Asher took the pole only 0.5 seconds in front of the Heavyweight polesitter of Charlie Fenton. Daniel Varland and George Benson would round out the grid for the shootout in lights and Justin Elliot and newcomer Giles Coke lined up second and third in the Heavyweights.
Harry Asher continued his impressive form by dominating the shootout in the lightweights, however after a drying session with ever improving it was George Benson who lined up first for the feature race after setting the fastest lap during the shootout.
A similar situation would occur in the heavyweights as Charlie Fenton went on to take the race win but Championship rival Justin Elliott would take the fastest lap.
In the Lightweights George Benson led away from Harry Asher but it didn't take long for the youngster to make his way past and start extending the gap to the chasing pack. A very impressive drive from Aseem Badshah saw him climb from fourth on the grid to the second spot on the podium, finishing only a few tenths behind was Daniel Varland.
In the Heavyweights it all seemed to be going Charlie Fenton’s way after quickly dispatching Justin Elliott to take his lead. However, some very impressive pace from Giles Coke, as the track dried, we saw him catch up to Fenton before a very bizarre incident occurred that saw both drivers spinning off on the start-finish straight. This allowed Elliott ,who had seemed to find his footing in the dryer conditions, to catch up to the pair and make his way past to take his second race win in a row. Charlie Fenton finished closely behind with Giles Coke taking a well deserved podium on his debut.
DMAX
There was a deluge of rain just before the DMAX Race which saw the track soaked with water.
Phillip Baboolal took the pole in the Lightweight class in front of James Bettison and round one winner - Ethan Pritchard.
In the Heavyweight class it would be a wet weather masterclass from Paul Studd who qualified 1.4 seconds ahead of the next quickest driver of Lee Schnitzler and Lee Witney.
For the Lightweight shootout it was the battle of the James' as James Bettison and James King battled throughout the race. King made a brilliant move at turn nine, snatching the lead away from Bettison who would perform and equally impressive move two corners later to take the lead back and eventually win the Shootout.
Paul Studd would secure the win from pole in the Heavyweight shootout only finishing seven tenths in front of Lee Schnitzler behind.
King started from pole after setting the fastest lap in the shootout from Bettison and Baboolal. What followed was an epic battle between the three drivers throughout the entire race, going down to the wire with the three only a second apart at the flag. It was James King who finished on top, taking his first win in SuperChamps ahead of Bettison and Baboolal behind.
Schnitzler started from front of the grid ahead of Studd and Justin Elliot. However, for Schnitzler the opening lap would be a disaster as too much kerb at turn four left him spinning around and dropping to the back of the field. This allowed Studd to storm into the lead and never relinquish it despite the constant pressure from Elliott who only finished a second behind. A very impressive drive from the Sodi Heavyweight champion Scott Woosey saw him take his first podium after just two rounds in the DMAX class.
Thursday Night League
SODI
Thursday Night League round 2 rolled round and 32 drivers took to the grid for this dry and mild evening. The track however was still damp from rain yesterday so tricky changing conditions greeted the drivers. Round 1 winner Alfie O’brien here for round 2 as well as Richard Danby and Charlie Sheldrake.
Qualifying got underway with Will Stephenson setting the early pace with Harry Asher and Richard Danby closely behind. Fastest lap was a 1:35:093 set on Will's 5th lap, with 7 tenths over Harry Asher, Richard Danby, and Oscar Furby closely behind.
The race got underway, and William Stephenson managed to get clear of the field, the race went by with close battles up and down the order, Richard Danby had some good overtakes in the early laps, Alfie O’brien made some early gains in positions, getting up to third. As the race went on it was Will who built up an unsalable advantage and brought it home after 12 laps, 17 seconds over Oscar Furby, and Alfie O’brien in third who was 30 seconds back. Richard Danby finished in forth with Charlie Sheldrake in fifth. Harry Mason and William Fry brought it home in sixth and seventh but were very close come the checkered flag. Raghu Subra was eighth just beating Harry Asher who made an error under yellows receiving black flag earlier on. Norbert Orsos claimed the final points position in round 2 of Thursday Night League .
DMAX
Round 2 of the Thursday Night League at Daytona Milton Keynes kicked off with an intense DMAX qualifying session, as drivers grappled with challenging patchy conditions. In a thrilling display of skill, Josh Davis secured pole position with a blistering lap of 1.22.610, followed closely by Paul Granger in second (1.22.947) and James King in third (1.22.118).
As the race unfolded, Josh Davis showcased his prowess, building a commanding 1.5-second lead over Paul Granger. Meanwhile, Lee Schnitzler and Paul Studd executed impressive overtakes, securing third and fourth positions, respectively.
Midway through the race, Josh Davis maintained his lead, while Lee Schnitzler climbed to second place, just 6 seconds behind. Paul Granger held his ground in third, setting the stage for a fierce battle in the final laps.
In a nail-biting finish, Josh Davis held onto his lead, crossing the finish line in first place. Lee Schnitzler closed in on him, finishing a mere 4 seconds behind in second, while Paul Granger secured the final spot on the podium in third. The Round 2 spectacle at Daytona Milton Keynes delivered thrilling racing action and showcased the skill and determination of all contenders.
Tamworth
Thursday Night League
Round 2 of Thursday Night League at Daytona Tamworth took place in greasy and difficult conditions. Despite being set on a dry evening, the track was still very green due to a lack of running throughout the week - meaning drivers would be challenged to find grip throughout their racing for the evening.
N-35 ST
Qualifying for the N-35 ST race proved to be as competitive as the green nature of the track would suggest. There was only three hundredths of a second between the top two at the end of the ten minute session, with lap times decreasing to the tune of about nine seconds over the course of the session. Blake Southan returned to the track after a few months racing at other Daytona venues, but narrowly missed out on pole position. Championship hopeful Jacob Connellan’s 1:23.682 was just about enough to snatch pole position away from Blake. Thierry Hopkins was not a million miles behind, only seven tenths of a second off of the leader in third.
Into the race, the majority of the top four would have felt like they were in with a chance of taking victory at some point over the course of the twenty minutes. Alex Barker did fly as high as second position at times in the race, getting passed both Thierry Hopkins and Jacob Conellan early but would eventually have to settle for fourth position. Thierry Hopkins and Jacob could not have been closer together as whilst they were able to get ahead of Alex quite comfortably in the closing stages, were only separated from each other by three tenths at the line, Thierry climbing to the second spot on the podium. Blake Southan was the driver taking victory then, though he had to do a lot of work to get the lead from Jacob Connellan, doing so at around half distance and not looking back from there.
DMAX-GT
Though the track was in much better condition for the DMAX qualifying session, it would still prove to be difficult to get into competitive dry-running lap times. This theme continued throughout the session, with the pole position bouncing around from driver to driver throughout. Eventually, Jude Beaven was able to take it, finishing four tenths of a second ahead of Jake Renshaw, with a best lap time of 59.820. Jake was only a few tenths of a second ahead of third-placed Abi Sanders, who herself was only a couple of tenths ahead of Josh Gora and Kai Andrews in fourth and fifth.
Heading into the race, Jake Renshaw was able to gather the lead in the early stages by virtue of a small mistake from pole-sitter Jude Beaven. Whilst he would lead from this point to the finish, it was by no means smooth sailing as the challenges from behind did not stop right up until the closing stages. Despite finishing four seconds ahead of the next fastest kart, this was not to say that Jake dominated the race as he was involved in a battle in the final couple of laps with Abi Sanders, who was eventually taken out of contention by a spin at turn three. Max Housley climbed into second position by virtue of this spin, having passed Jude Beaven on the final lap. Jude could be pretty happy with third, making it a pretty decent first two rounds of the season from his perspective.
Sandown Park

SODI
Heat 1
Heat 1 saw Freddie Funnell line up on pole position with David De La Roz joining him on the front row, Reece Harris (our only Sodi heavy driver) in 3rd. After lights out it was our Reece Harris that was making the moves and by the end of lap one had shot up to first position. Freddie dropping down to 2nd and David not having a good start at all and by the end of lap 2 was down to 6th. Jamie Warner took his time from starting 7th making his way through the field to suddenly take the lead on lap 6 and did not look back. Taking the in just 5 laps later. Jack Harrison coming home in 2nd and Reece a very strong 3rd.
Heat 2
Heat 2 got underway with Matthew Turner starting in pole position, Fin Ions in 2nd and Erti Sulko rounding up our top 3. After lights out we had a good start from Matthew keeping the attacks from everyone else behind at bay, the same could be said for Fin in second but unfortunately our 3rd placed driver Erti Sulko had a terrible start and dropped down to p12 by the end of the first lap. Some other strong movers throughout the heat were Jack Redfern who started in p9 but managed to bring it home in p4. Freddie Funnell as well starting in p13 but finishing in a strong p8.
Final
The final got underway as the sun was setting over Sandown Park. Tinted visors were put away and the clear visors attached. Jamie Warner lined up on pole position but sadly did not make the weight so was not scoring any points. Jack Harrison in 2nd and Jack Redfern in 3rd. The final got underway and the top 3 all stayed the same after lap one. There was movement down the field though as Reece Harris made up a couple of places from p9 as did Fin Ions in p8 who ws up to p5 by the end of lap 4. The race then settled down until the finish with most drivers staying in position. The quality of driving is so strong in SuperChamps that its very hard to make a clean move as the drivers were finding out as they attempted moves repeatedly.
In the end it cam down to Jack Harrison taking the chequered flag, Freddie Funnell coming home in 2nd and Fin Ions rounding out our top 3 for our light drivers.
Reece Harris coming home in a very respectful p6 on track but of course winning in the Sodi Heavy class.
DMAX
On a cold and windy afternoon here at Daytona Sandown Park we got underway with our first round of SuperChamps for the season. All the drivers were very keen to get out onto track to start to show the other drivers what they were in for.
Heat 1
Heat 1 got underway shortly after With Finley Hart starting on pole, After the green flag went up to signal the start of the race Finley did not look back and held the lead from lap one all the way to the checkered flag. Thomas Williams starting in 2nd unfortunately lost 5 places in the final laps and dropped down the order to 7th. One of our Heavy class drivers William Tidnam came through with a very impressive 2nd as our former winner Archie Bullard took home 3rd after staring down in 11th position.
Heat 2
In a similar fashion to heat 1 our pole sitter Ollie Armiger led from the front and never looked back, not really being troubled for any of the race. Max Sheldon starting in second dropped down to 4th by lap 3 but had secured 2nd by the chequered flag. A very strong drive by Logan McAlister saw him finishing 3rd after starting down in p6. A shout out to Luka Nik who started all the way down in 13th but battled his way through to finishing 4th.
Final
A great start from Logan McAlister saw him fend of moves from Matthew Boulton and Archie Bullard and that top 3 stayed for the first few laps in that order. There was a couple of penalties handed out on lap 4 after a few karts got involved in some ambitious overtakes. The race then seemed to calm down a little before Matthew Boulton made a move for the lead on lap 6 and made it stick by being later on the brakes up into turn 6. Archie Bullard still trailing them very close in 3rd.
Further down the field Daytona Sandown regular Charie Foster was having a busy race in the middle of the back not letting anyone past but the defending meant he was kept in 10th from start to finish of the whole race. A solid result for him in his first Superchamps outing.
On lap 7 we saw our 3rd placed driver Archie fall down to 4th as he lost out on the breaks once again this time to Max Sheldon, trying to fight the position back but ran out of laps towards the end of the race.
Our top 3 finished with Matthew Boulton in 1st, Logan McAlister in 2nd and finally Max Sheldon bringin home 3rd.
Our heavy DMAX drivers were also in the mix in this race. William Tidnam holding his own in the middle of the pack despite being 20kg heavier than most the other drivers around him. He started the race in 8th and very similar to Charlie Foster in the lights kept that position the whole race. The same can be said of Justin Hammond our 2nd place heavy driver. He had some great battles in the middle of the pack defending and also attacking for his life. He ended up in p12 over all but a solid 2nd in the heavy fleet. Finally our 3rd place Heavy driver Olly Cooper Welton started in 18th on the grid but after some lovely moves up into turn 6 he managed to finish a respectable p16 but 3rd overall in our heavy class of drivers.
InKart
Junior Heats
Heat 1
Heat one got underway on another cold January morning for round 2 of InKart. As the drivers made their way out onto the track it was Leon Ptasznik on pole with David Szucs-Farkas lining up in second, looking to make another strong showing like last week. In third we had Harrison Rugde. Once they got away it was Leon setting the early pace with David following just behind. It stayed like this for half the race until David made his move. He didn’t let go of the lead again and brought home heat 1 in first. A strong showing from Jack Bromham starting in 4th but making his way up the field to take second and Harrison Rudge having a quiet but good race to bring home p3
Heat 2
Heat 2 saw Jamie Warner on pole, Charlie Bradburn in second and Ellis McKenzie lining up on the second row of the grid. Further behind we had Bertie Hodgson in 4th and Nicoilai Eidsgard in 5th. All the drivers got off well from the line and positions did not change in the top 3 for the whole race despite some great attempted moves.
Heat 3
Heat 3 had Ollie Peters starting on pole, Leo Edger in p2 and Ethan Critchley in 3rd. Once lights went out and the green flag was raised it was Ollie peters who defended a move against p2 driver Leo Edger to keep p1 for the opening lap. These two drivers had a great battle for the first few laps but eventually it was Jack Bromham who went up the inside to secure the lead. Once he had it he never let it go and took home the win. Regular podium sitter David Szucs-Farkas secured 2nd with Ollie Peters showing good form to come home p3.
Heat 4
Heat 4 saw Jamie Warner on pole once again with Charlie Bradburn in p2 and Ellis McKenzie in p3. We got away well once again with the top 3 pulling away from the field right away. Charlie Bradburn and Jamie Warner having a very tight battle out front, Ellis McKenzie holding pack to pick up any scraps that comes his way. Further down the Field Jack Edger lost a few places in the first couple of laps to drop down to p8 after starting p5. After all the excitement the top 3 came home with Jamie in p1, Charlie in p2 and Ellis in p3 .
Junior B final
After the excitement of the heats coming to an end it was time for the first Junior final. Nicolai Eidsgard lined up on pole position, Callum Ince in 2nd and Ethan Critchley in 3rd, Harry Pickles in strong 4th, William Bradbery in 5th. On lights out the top 3 again got away very well and again started to pull away from the field just like in the heats. Further down the order we had moves from 9th place Robert Wijnand who move up to p6 within a few laps. William Bradbury was scrapping away between p5 and p4 and eventually closing the gap to the top 3 and making some great moves into turn 6 finally putting him into p2. The race finished with Nicolai taking p1, William Bradbury taking p2 and Callum Ince taking the final podium spot. Further down the order Ethan Critchley finished p4, Harry Pickles in p5 and Jack Edger in p6.
Junior A final
The Junior A final saw some of our regular quick drivers lining up on the front 3 positions on the grid. Jamie Warner on pole, Charlie Bradburn in p2 and Leo Edger in p3. On lights out Jamie made a blistering start to take the lead into turn one. The young driver didn’t look back once he was past the safety of lap one and led every lap to take home the lead. It was a similar story behind with Charlie and Leo both fighting each other all the time but by the chequered flag it was Leo who took p3 with Charlie dropping down to p4 after a great move from Jack Bromham on the final lap gave him p3.
Cadet heats
Heat 1
The first heat for the cadets only saw 3 drivers take to the track. Felix Heywood on pole, Sebastian Mejer in second and Harvey Ball in 3rd. After lights out despite some good battles the top 3 crossed the finish line the 3 drivers kept position and came home in their starting spots.
Heat 2
Heat 2 saw 4 drivers take to the track with Adam Telford on pole, Marcus Cooper in second,Daniel Marutyak in 3rd and Sarah Telford in 4th. After the first 3 laps it was Daniel that made a great double move to take him up to p1 coming into turn 6. Adam dropping down to 3rd. By the time they crossed the line it was Daniel Marutyak taking 1st, Sarah Telford in 2nd and Marcus Cooper in 3rd.
Heat 3
Heat 3 again saw 4 drivers take to the track. Daniel Marutyak lining up on pole, Harvey Ball in 2nd, Felix Heywood in 3rd and Sebastian Mejer in 4th. Daniel did not look back from the start leading every single lap on his way to claim victory. Felix Heywood made a great move on the brakes in ap one to put him up to 2nd, again not looking back once the position was secured. As they crossed the line it was Daniel Marutyak taking the win, Felix Heywood in second and Sebastian Mejer in 3rd.
Heat 4
Heat 4 was very similar to heat 1 with 3 drivers taking to the track. It was Sarah Telford this time lining up on pole with her brother Adam in second and Marcus Cooper in 3rd. Sarah led from the get go and didn’t look back taking her victory in great style. Marcus made a move on Adam on lap 4 taking him up to second and this is the order that they crossed the line.
Cadet Final
We had 7 drivers take to the grid for our cadet final. Daniel Marutyak lining up on pole, Sarah Telford in 2nd, Adam Telford in 3rd, Marcus Cooper with a strong showing for 4th, Sebastian Mejer in 5th, Harvey Ball in 6th and Felix Heywood in 7th. Another very strong showing from Daniel Marutyak as he took pole led every lap and took the victory. Sarah Telford slipped back to 4th after starting in p2 and a strong drive by Marcus Cooper put him into the podium places. As they crossed the line it was Daniel from Adam from Marcus.
